MECO–UPOU–UPAA Partnership

On November 27, 2025, the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO), the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU), and UPAA signed a Memorandum of Understanding to expand upskilling and capability-building programs for Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Taiwan.

The partnership aims to make learning more accessible and responsive to the needs of the Filipino global workforce. Through flexible short courses and targeted training initiatives, the collaboration strengthens professional growth opportunities for OFWs.

Leaders from the three institutions emphasized that the agreement marks a concrete step toward lifelong learning, workforce competitiveness, and sustained support for Filipinos abroad.
