Taiwanihan 2026: A Bayanihan-Driven Learning Experience in Kaohsiung

The University of the Philippines Alumni Association successfully held UPAA Taiwanihan in Kaohsiung 2026, an immersive leadership program that brought together professionals, academics, and policymakers for a shared journey of learning, exchange, and collaboration. Hosted in Kaohsiung, the program created a space for meaningful engagement around industrial innovation, smart governance, and sustainability.

Taiwanihan 2026 was designed as an on-the-ground learning experience, moving beyond traditional formats and into real-world settings. Through site visits to innovation hubs and sustainable communities, participants were able to explore how systems, infrastructure, and communities work together in practice.
The program emphasized learning through direct exposure, giving participants the opportunity to see, observe, and reflect on approaches that can inform Philippine development.

A key component of Taiwanihan was the opportunity to engage in dialogues with government and industry leaders. These exchanges created space for participants to listen, ask questions, and better understand how policies and innovations are shaped and implemented.
Alongside these dialogues, participants also took part in hands-on workshops that focused on smart city governance and regional collaboration. These sessions encouraged active participation and deeper understanding, reinforcing the program’s commitment to practical, experience-based learning.

Taiwanihan 2026 also served as a platform for meaningful exchange among participants. Bringing together individuals from different sectors, the program fostered conversations that extended beyond formal sessions, creating opportunities for connection, collaboration, and shared learning.
These interactions strengthened a growing network of professionals and changemakers committed to applying insights and contributing to progress within their respective fields.

At its core, Taiwanihan is a bayanihan-driven initiative—an investment in leadership, knowledge exchange, and shared progress. The program highlights the value of learning from global experiences while staying grounded in the goal of contributing to Philippine nation-building.
From site visits and workshops to dialogues and community exchanges, Taiwanihan 2026 reflected a collective effort to bridge ideas and translate them into meaningful action.

Taiwanihan continues to build bridges of innovation, solidarity, and shared progress. The 2026 program in Kaohsiung stands as a meaningful step forward in UPAA’s ongoing commitment to global learning and leadership development.
Maraming salamat to all participants, speakers, and partners who contributed to the success of this journey. Together, the Taiwanihan community moves forward—carrying insights, connections, and a shared purpose. Padayon.
